Anya-Kaye believes in self-love and celebrating what makes each person unique and special. She aspires to bring more diversity to the literature offered to young readers. Anya-Kaye received her BA in psychology from the University of Florida and an MA in school counseling from Argosy University. She currently resides in Tampa, FL where she works at a public school as a College and Career Counselor.

In addition to being an educator, Anya-Kaye was a member of the United States Navy Reserves. She was medically discharged due to an accident. While on a military exercise she fell 27ft while exiting a shipboard crane. As a result of this accident, Anya-Kaye is currently paralyzed from the chest down and confined to a wheelchair. Anya-Kaye’s zest for life has not allowed anything to slow her down.
